Deposit Requirements
A 50% deposit, payable to Karel Murray, secures the date booked. The balance is due seven (7) days prior to the date of presentation or presented to Karel immediately after completion of the program.

Hiring Karel Murray for an engagement is a very easy process. Karel Murray works with two exceptional service oriented individuals: Lisa Betts (specializing in real estate bookings) and Devie Hagen (specializing in association and corporate bookings). Both have complete access to all of Karel Murray’s
programs and are committed to providing exceptional service to customers and clients. Their contact information is listed above.
Karel Murray will speak with you directly to assist you in selecting the right program that fits the meeting planner’s objectives and determine the level of customization that is required.
Booking contracts are mailed once the details are agreed to with a request for a 50% deposit payable to Karel Murray.
Frequently Asked Questions Regarding My Fees
Q. How long do I have after placing a SOFT HOLD on a date before I have to decide to book Karel?
A. If another meeting planner contacts Karel and wishes to definitely book on the date that is currently on SOFT HOLD for you, We will contact you and ask you to make a decision to either book the engagement or release the held date. Otherwise, if no inquiries come for that date, we will request a firm commitment after 60 days on SOFT HOLD. We will contact you in advance of end period to discuss how you would like to proceed.
Q. When is an engagement considered a confirmed HOLD?
A. Once Karel Murray receives your 50% deposit and signed contract, your SOFT HOLD will be changed to a CONFIRMED HOLD.
Q. When does my engagement date become finalized?
A. Your reserved event date is not confirmed until you return your signed contract and deposit to Karel.
Q. Will Karel work for less than her established fees?
A. We want your meeting to be successful but if your budget can’t support Karel’s fee schedule, Karel offers you several choices.
- Work with you to determine ways to afford her fee through creative avenues, value added programming, product sales, combining budget categories or locating a sponsor.
- Show you how you can take advantage of pricing point breaks when setting up multiple engagements in the same year.
- Discuss product and booth opportunities that will provide a comparable value in exchange for part of the fee.
- Let us refer other speakers to you.
Q. But, does Karel do any reduced fee or free engagements?
A. Karel is a firm believer in giving back to organizations she belongs to. All other organizations with reduced pricing requests will be addressed on an individual basis and Karel's pricing integrity guidelines will be referenced for consistency.
Q. How do we procure a date as one of the reduced fee engagements?
A. Complete the reduced fee application form. We will contact you and discuss your situation and dates.
Q. What is Karel's cancellation policy?
A. If cancellation/postponement is unavoidable, please notify us by telephone as soon as possible and follow up with a written cancellation within five (5) days of the phone call.
Neither the Client nor Our Branch, Inc. shall be liable in the event of cancellation due to acts of God, war, government regulation, disaster, strikes, civil disorder, curtailment of transportation facilities or any other events beyond the Client’s control that make it inadvisable, illegal or impossible to hold the specified session(s).
If the Client cancels the program date and chooses NOT to reschedule, the 50% deposit will be forfeited by the Client and retained by Our Branch, Inc. and any out of pocket expenses we have incurred on the Client’s behalf become the responsibility of the Client.
Rescheduling
In the unlikely event that you would need to reschedule this program, your deposit will be applied towards a new, mutually agreed upon date to take place within one year of the date of this agreement. Any fees for a reschedule will be “fee in effect” at the time of the new booking.
If Client reschedules an event, and cancels a reserved date a second time and rescheduling is not an option, the 50% deposit will be forfeited by the Client and retained by Our Branch, Inc. Any out of pocket expenses we have incurred on the Client behalf become the responsibility of the Client.
